Brendan McGinnis

is an engineer, designer and artist living in the San Francisco Bay Area. Since 2020, Brendan has been a professional yo-yo player for Caribou Lodge, a yo-yo company originating in Edmonton, Alberta. Brendan is the Sole Proprietor of Hesh Enterprises, which serves as an outlet for his creative endeavors. Hesh Enterprises began in 2018 with the Petri, a yo-yo that Brendan designed and manufactured while working at a machine shop in San Carlos, California. While no longer a machinist, Brendan continues to design yo-yos in his spare time, now having them manufactured by his friends at One Drop Yo-yos in Eugene, Oregon.

Honeypot

The Honeypot is the second Hesh Enterprises yo-yo, and is intended to be a reimagining of the Petri, but made smaller, wider and with more rounded edges so that it would be less challenging and more comfortable to play. I designed it while working as a machinist in January of 2020, then slightly modified the design in 2024 and had it machined by my friends at One Drop Yo-yos in Eugene, Oregon.

The Honeypot measures 54.5mm in diameter, 38.6mm wide and weighs 65g.
